Provided are: a copolyester resin having excellent thermoforming ability and biodegradability; and a method for producing the same. This copolyester resin is obtained by combining a biodegradable block (X) which is a structural unit that realize biodegradability, and a non-biodegradable block (Y) which is a structural unit that is non-biodegradable.
