De l'azote lié organiquement est éliminé d'un flux d'alcool éthyléniquement insaturé par mise en contact du flux d'alcool avec un adsorbant solide faiblement acide. Des quantités à l'état de traces d'azote lié organiquement ont tendance à empoisonner le catalyseur d'oxydation dans des procédés d'oxydation ultérieurs à l'aide du flux d'alcool éthyléniquement insaturé.
