The present invention prevents light from a headlight from being diffusively reflected on the road surface and reaching an oncoming vehicle.　Provided is a method for controlling a lamp that has: a lamp unit which projects light in a predetermined range; and a driver which turns on and off or dims the projection range of light of the lamp unit in predetermined units. The method comprises: a step for obtaining a reflection area on a road surface in which light projected from the lamp unit is regularly reflected and diffusively reflected on the road surface and reaches an operator of an oncoming vehicle or a preceding vehicle; and a step for controlling the driver to turn off or dim the projection of light from the lamp unit to the reflection area.
