La présente divulgation concerne des méthodes in vitro pour diagnostiquer un traumatisme crânio-cérébral (TBI), en particulier des méthodes dans lesquelles le diagnostic est basé sur la détermination du niveau de biomarqueurs à base de glycane dans la salive et/ou l'urine d'un sujet suspecté de souffrir de TBI. La divulgation concerne également l'utilisation de N-glycanes spécifiques en tant que biomarqueurs de TBI dans la salive et l'urine.
