Summary: | A tea composition capable of regulating an estrogen signaling pathway and the use of same in prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. A main active ingredient of the tea composition capable of regulating the estrogen signaling pathway is theaflavin-3,3'-digallate (TFDG), and the tea composition in effective dose can be used for up-regulating the estrogen signaling pathway in a PC12 cell, the effective dose being the dose of the tea composition, which can up-regulate the expression of at least one among cytokeratin gene Krt, keratin associated protein gene Krtap and type II keratin gene by 40% or more. The tea composition can up-regulate the expression of the keratin gene in the estrogen signaling pathway so as to promote the axon growth of the PC12 cell, thereby achieving the effect of protecting nerves. Further provided in the present invention is the use of the tea composition capable of regulating an estrogen signaling pathway in prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
