Summary:A strength exercise machine is provided. The strength exercise machine may include a base supporting structure, a seat mounted on the base supporting structure for a user to sit on, an external force transmission structure to which external force is applied by the user, an actuator for generating repulsive force in a direction opposite to the external force applied to the external force transmission structure, a sensor unit for sensing whether the user is seated on the seat or sensing a change in pressure due to the external force applied to the external force transmission structure, and thus sensing whether the user is exercising, and a control unit for, when determined via the sensor unit that the user is exercising, controlling to drive the actuator to generate the repulsive force and, when determined via the sensor unit that the user is not exercising, controlling to stop the driving of the actuator or controlling to reduce the magnitude of the repulsive force generated by the actuator.
