Provided are a device and protection method for protecting content by using biometric information. A content protection method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: displaying identification information of encoded content; receiving a user input of selecting the encoded content; obtaining image information of a body part of a user by controlling a sensor, in response to receiving the user input of selecting the encoded content; calculating feature information of the body part of the user from the obtained image information; reconstructing an encryption key on the basis of hint information stored in response to the encoded content and the calculated feature information of the user; decoding the encoded content on the basis of the reconstructed encryption key; and displaying the encoded content as the encoded content is decoded.
