Disclosed are an electronic device and an operating method of the electronic device, according to embodiments. The disclosed electronic device comprises: a communication interface including a communication circuit; a memory for storing one or more instructions; and a processor for executing the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor may be configured to, by executing the one or more instructions, determine an execution situation of content while executing the content, select one frame processing mode from among an image quality priority mode, in which image quality is first considered and processed before an input lag time of the content, and an input lag priority mode, in which the input lag time is first considered and processed before the image quality of the content, according to the determination of the execution situation, and perform image quality processing on frames of the content according to the selected frame processing mode.
