L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un élément structural du châssis d'un véhicule à moteur comprenant les étapes consistant à fournir un élément structural (10) du châssis d'un véhicule à moteur, présentant au moins une section creuse (12) dans un état assemblé ; pré-mouler un insert d'amortissement (14) en polymère thermoplastique, conçu pour remplir au moins partiellement la section creuse (12) ; et incorporer l'insert d'amortissement (14) dans la section creuse (12) de l'élément structural (10).
