Summary:The present invention relates to in vitro methods for producing cardiomyocytes, cardiomyocytes produced by such methods and methods for the use of such cardiomyocytes. The invention provides methods for producing a population of cardiomyocytes, as well as populations of cardiomyocytes so produced. Also provided are methods of identifying or classifying a genetic variants associated with a cardiac condition, of screening compounds, and of predicting a subject's response to one or more treatments for a cardiac condition using the populations of cardiomyocytes produced by the methods of the invention. Other aspects of the invention relate to therapeutic compositions comprising the population of cardiomyocytes produced by the methods of the invention, for use in the treatment of a cardiac condition. La présente invention concerne des procédés in vitro de production de cardiomyocytes, des cardiomyocytes produits par de tels procédés et des procédés d'utilisation de ces cardiomyocytes. L'invention concerne des procédés de production d'une population de cardiomyocytes, ainsi que des populations de cardiomyocytes ainsi produites. La présente invention propose également des procédés d'identification ou de classification de variants génétiques associés à une affection cardiaque, de criblage de composés et de prédiction de la réponse d'un sujet à un ou plusieurs traitements d'une affection cardiaque à l'aide des populations de cardiomyocytes produites par les procédés de l'invention. D'autres aspects de l'invention concernent des compositions thérapeutiques comprenant la population de cardiomyocytes produite par les procédés de l'invention, destinées à être utilisées dans le traitement d'une affection cardiaque.
