According to embodiments, an electronic device and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The disclosed electronic device comprises: a communication interface; a memory for storing one or more instructions; and a processor for executing the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor executes the one or more instructions so as to: identify an application corresponding to an audio input operation according to the disconnection of a wireless connection of an audio input device performing the audio input operation; select, on the basis of the identified application, one of the plurality of audio input devices activated in the electronic device; and controls that the audio input operation is performed through the selected audio input device.
