Summary:Provided in embodiments of the present disclosure are a method for rewriting a narrative text, a device, an apparatus, and a medium. The method comprises determining a change to a statement in the narrative text. An initial context of the statement before the change is different from a target context of a changed statement. The method further comprises performing, on the basis of inconsistency between a text portion after the statement in the narrative text and the target context, at least one editing operation on the text portion to generate at least one edited version of the text portion. The method further comprises replacing the text portion with an edited version in the at least one edited version as a rewritten narrative text. In this way, the narrative text can be rewritten by means of few edits while contextual coherence is ensured.
