The present disclosure relates to a method for performing mutual authentication between UE and a network in a wireless communication system. The method may comprise the steps in which: the UE receives an authentication request message comprising RAND and an authentication token (AUTN) from the network; the UE performs authentication of the network on the basis of the authentication request message; and, if the UE fails the authentication of the network, the UE transmits an authentication failure message.
