Summary:The present invention relates to novel processes for the preparation of iron (III) carbohydrate complex. Thus, for example, starch was oxidised using various oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, oxone to obtain oxidized sugar derivative. The oxidized product was reacted with ferric hydroxide in water at 100°C to produce iron (III) carbohydrate complex. The invention results in the formation of ferric carbohydrate complex with consistent average molecular weight and iron content. La présente invention concerne des procédés nouveaux pour la préparation d'un complexe glucidique de fer (III). Ainsi, par exemple, de l'amidon a été oxydé en utilisant divers agents oxydants tels que le peroxyde d'hydrogène, l'hypochlorite de sodium, l'hydrogénopersulfate de potassium afin d'obtenir un dérivé de sucre oxydé. Le produit oxydé a été mis en réaction avec de l'hydroxyde ferrique dans de l'eau à 100 °C pour produire un complexe glucidique de fer (III). L'invention aboutit à la formation d'un complexe glucidique ferrique ayant un poids moléculaire moyen et une teneur en fer constants.
