This optical device is provided, for example, with: a base; a light-emitting element which is provided on the base and which outputs laser light; multiple optical components which are provided on the base and which transmit laser light outputted from the light-emitting element to the optical fiber and which couple the laser light to the optical fiber; and a shielding part which is provided on the base and which shields stray light reflected on a second optical component among the multiple optical components from irradiating onto a first optical component among the multiple optical components. The second optical component is optionally positioned in front of the first optical component in the optical path of the laser light. Further, the shielding part is optionally positioned offset relative to the first optical component in the direction of travel of the laser light passing through the first optical component.
