An electronic device forming a blockchain node of a blockchain network, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, comprises: a communication circuit for transmitting a signal to one or more external devices or receiving another signal therefrom; a memory for storing a partial ledger including a portion of a full ledger for the blockchain network; and at least one processor electrically connected to the communication circuit and the memory, wherein the partial ledger includes at least one block corresponding, respectively, to at least one transaction in which the electronic device participates in consensus, and the at least one processor can execute a transaction related to the electronic device, generate, according to the execution of the transaction, a block including a hash field, which includes previous block information in the full ledger and previous block information in the partial ledger, and block data for the transaction, and store the generated block in the memory in association with the partial ledger.
