This visual inspection device comprises: an imaging unit for capturing images of the surface of an object to be inspected; a posture control unit for changing the posture, relative to the imaging unit, of the object to be inspected; a storage unit for storing learning results obtained by machine learning using a defective-product sample image, the defective-product sample image being generated by synthesizing a pre-prepared defective part image with a favorable-product image of the object to be inspected, at a synthesis position obtained by referring to three-dimensional data corresponding to the object to be inspected which is tilted so as to lie at a preset posture angle; and an inspection unit for inspecting the surface of the object to be inspected, on the basis of a captured image captured at the posture angle by the imaging unit, and the learning results.
