Summary:Provided herein are water harvesting systems, as well as methods of making and using such systems, for capturing water from surrounding air using a design that reduces overall energy costs of the systems and improve water harvesting cycle efficiency. The systems and methods use sorbent materials, such as metal-organic frameworks, to adsorb water from the air. The systems and methods desorb this water in the form of water vapor, and the water vapor is condensed into liquid water and collected. The liquid water is suitable for use as drinking water. L'invention concerne des systèmes de collecte d'eau, ainsi que des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de tels systèmes, pour capturer de l'eau à partir d'air environnant à l'aide d'une conception qui réduit les coûts énergétiques globaux des systèmes et améliore l'efficacité du cycle de collecte d'eau. Les systèmes et les procédés utilisent des matériaux sorbants, tels que des structures organométalliques, pour adsorber l'eau de l'air. Les systèmes et procédés désorbent cette eau sous la forme de vapeur d'eau, et la vapeur d'eau est condensée en eau liquide et collectée. L'eau liquide est appropriée pour être utilisée comme eau potable.
