An electronic device according to an embodiment disclosed in the present document may comprise: an antenna for transmitting a radio signal to or receiving a radio signal from an external device; a communication circuit connected to the antenna and supporting a first wireless communication scheme; a display; a memory; and a processor; wherein the processor activates the communication circuit, searches for a nearby wireless network device supporting the first wireless communication scheme so as to generate a list, operates the communication circuit in a first mode to acquire a packet transmitted between a first external device and a second external device on the basis of the list, determines, on the basis of a size of the packet, whether the packet is a video stream packet, and displays a user notification on the display if the packet is the video stream packet.
