An information provision method of an electronic device is disclosed. The information provision method may comprise the steps of: acquiring a search word from a user; identifying at least one first category related to a product corresponding to the search word; identifying a second category corresponding to a subcategory of the first category, and an image corresponding to the second category; and displaying, in a first area, a list of products corresponding to the search word, and displaying, in a second area that is distinguished from the first area, information regarding the second category, and the image.
