Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Kraftwagens (12), bei welchem mittels einer Bedienvorrichtung (10) eine erste Benutzereingabe (22) empfangen wird, welche eine Auswahl eines einzustellenden Ambientemodus (24) aus mehreren vorgegebenen Ambientemodi (24) charakterisiert, welche jeweils eine Gruppe von gemeinsam einzustellenden, jeweils eine Komfortfunktion bereitstellenden Fahrzeugkomponenten des Kraftwagens (12) definieren, eine zweite Benutzereingabe (26) empfangen wird, welche eine ausgewählte, einzustellende Intensität des ausgewählten Ambientemodus (24) definiert, wobei die ausgewählte Intensität jeweilige einzustellende Werte für die Gruppe an Fahrzeugkomponenten vorgibt, und ein Einstellen der durch die gewählte Intensität vorgegebenen Werte in den durch den ausgewählten Ambientemodus (24) vorgegebenen Fahrzeugkomponenten des Kraftwagens (12) ausgelöst wird.
