The passenger transport device comprises: a slat conveyor (20) cyclically operating on the predetermined route; a handrail belt (70) cyclically operating synchronously with the slat conveyor (20); a light source, used for dividing, during each cycle operation period of the slat conveyor, by means of a light-emitting mode of the light source and along the predetermined route, the slat conveyor into first-type sections (21) and second-type sections (22) which are alternated with each other, wherein the first-type sections (21) are identified by a first type of light emitted by the light source, and the first type of light moves along the predetermined route along with the slat conveyor; and a control module (40), configured to control the light-emitting mode of the light source in each cycle operation period of the slat conveyor (20).
