An adapter for allowing a cap assembly to fit securely on two or more medical device ports with different sizes, shapes, and/or dimensions. The cap assembly has a housing with an interior configuration corresponding with an exterior configuration of a first port and surrounding port region of a medical device. An adapter having an exterior configuration corresponding with the housing interior configuration, and an interior configuration corresponding with the second port and port region may be fitted within the housing. Alternatively, an adapter having a first configuration may be provided in the housing to configure the housing interior to correspond with the exterior configuration of the first port. The adapter may be shiftable into a second configuration with an interior corresponding with the exterior configuration of the second port. The first and second configurations of the housing interiors adapt the housing to fit securely on the corresponding port. Un adaptateur pour permettre à un ensemble capuchon de s'adapter fermement à au moins deux orifices d'un dispositif médical ayant différentes tailles, formes et/ou dimensions. L'ensemble capuchon comprend un boîtier ayant une configuration intérieure correspondant à une configuration extérieure d'un premier orifice et d'une région d'orifice environnant du dispositif médical. Un adaptateur ayant une configuration extérieure correspondant à la configuration intérieure du boîtier et une configuration intérieure correspondant au second orifice et à la région d'orifice peut être adapté à l'intérieur du boîtier. En variante, un adaptateur ayant une première configuration peut être disposé dans le boîtier pour configurer l'intérieur du boîtier afin qu'il corresponde à la configuration extérieure du premier orifice. L'adaptateur peut être déplacé dans une seconde configuration avec un intérieur correspondant à la configuration extérieure du second orifice. Les première et seconde configurations des intérieurs de boîtier adaptent le boîtier pour l'adapter fermement à l'orifice correspondant.
