An underpants-type disposable diaper (1) comprising an absorbent body (10), a ventral-side waistline part (30), and a dorsal-side waistline part (40), wherein: the ventral-side waistline part (30) and the dorsal-side waistline part (40) each have an inner sheet (21) and an outer sheet (22, 23); the ventral-side waistline part (30) and the dorsal-side waistline part (40) have, at the upper ends thereof, folded parts (30f, 40f) that are formed by folding back the same toward respective skin sides; the folded part (30f) has a fused area (60) where the inner sheet (21) and the outer sheet (22) are joined in the thickness direction; the fused area (60) of one of the ventral-side waistline part (30) and the dorsal-side waistline part (40) is configured to have a vertical length that is shorter than that of the fused area (60) of the other of the ventral-side waistline part (30) and the dorsal-side waistline part (40).
