The sprocket can be a split sprocket for easier installation onto and removal from a shaft. L'invention concerne un pignon ayant une série de lames de denture espacées de manière circonférentielle reliant les périphéries de deux bagues externes espacées axialement. Une bague de verrouillage facultative entre les bagues externes fournit un support supplémentaire pour les lames de denture ou les bagues externes et aide à verrouiller les lames de denture en place. Le pignon peut être un pignon fendu pour une installation plus facile sur un arbre et un retrait plus facile de celui-ci.
