Present invention discloses a power transmission system for a saddle type vehicle comprising an engine, a transmission unit coupled with the engine. The engine is configured to generate power for traction, at least a portion of the engine is disposed in a crankcase. The transmission unit is coupled with the at least a portion of the engine disposed in the crankcase. The transmission unit includes a modular outer casing disposed aligned to the crankcase. The outer casing includes a plurality of covers detachably attached to form the outer casing. La présente invention concerne un système de transmission de puissance pour un véhicule de type à selle comprenant un moteur et une unité de transmission couplée au moteur. Le moteur est conçu pour générer de l'énergie pour une traction, au moins une partie du moteur étant disposée dans un carter de vilebrequin. L'unité de transmission est couplée à la ou aux parties du moteur disposées dans le carter de vilebrequin. L'unité de transmission comprend un boîtier externe modulaire disposé aligné sur le carter de vilebrequin. Le boîtier externe comprend une pluralité de couvercles fixés de façon détachable pour former le boîtier externe.
