A harvester provided with: a harvesting part 15 for harvesting crops planted in a field; a crop height detection unit 21 for detecting the actual height of an unharvested crop planted ahead of the machine body of the harvester in the traveling direction; a reference height acquisition part 32 for acquiring a reference height of a crop planted in the field; and a control unit 3 for adjusting a control parameter to determine a work state of the machine body on the basis of the ratio of the actual height to the reference height.
