La présente invention concerne une lame sur un outil de forage de fond de trou, ladite lame comprenant un corps de lame et un couvercle de protection de lame. Le couvercle de protection de lame est préfritté et se conforme à la forme externe de la lame. Le couvercle de protection de lame est fixé au corps de lame. Le couvercle de protection de lame comprend une liaison sans soudure entre une face avant de couvercle et une face externe de couvercle pour réduire l'usure sur la face externe de la lame.
