L'invention concerne un piège et un procédé associé pour attraper des animaux nuisibles, en particulier des rats. Le piège permet de stocker de l'énergie mécanique dans un élément élastique. Cette énergie peut être momentanément libérée afin d'actionner rapidement une trappe, un couvercle, d'une position fermée à une position ouverte, afin d'attraper un rat.
