The present invention relates to the use, in order to prevent the formation of deposits and/or reduce deposits in the pipe conveying exhaust gases leaving an engine to a device for the selective catalytic reduction of nitrous oxides, of an aqueous composition comprising: - at least one agent for reducing the nitrous oxides and/or at least one precursor of such an agent, and - at least one organic ionic metallic compound of one or more metals chosen from among the following metals: Fe, Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Mn, Mg, V, Sr, Pt, Ce, Ca, Li, Na, and Nb. La présente invention a pour objet l'utilisation, pour prévenir la formation de dépôts et/ou réduire les dépôts dans la conduite acheminant les gaz d'échappement en sortie d'un moteur vers un dispositif de réduction catalytique sélective des oxydes d'azote, d'une composition aqueuse comprenant : - au moins un agent réducteur des oxydes d'azote et/ou au moins un précurseur d'un tel agent, et - au moins un composé métallique ionique organique d'un ou plusieurs métaux choisis parmi les métaux suivants : Fe, Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Mn, Mg, V, Sr, Pt, Ce, Ca, Li, Na, et Nb.
