The present invention relates to a composition and a kit for removing lipopolysaccharide (LPS) comprising a polypeptide having binding ability to lipopolysaccharide or a salt substitute thereof as an active ingredient, and a method for removing lipopolysaccharide. The polypeptide or salt substitute thereof, according to the present invention, has very excellent binding ability with lipopolysaccharide, and the efficiency of removing lipopolysaccharide during a purification process in a protein production process using E. coli is high, such that the lipopolysaccharide removal efficiency can be maximized.
