Summary: | A flame-resistant magnesium alloy and a preparation method therefor, relating to the fields of magnesium based alloys and alloying. According to the magnesium alloy, a certain quantity of calcium and yttrium are added by using a smelting metallurgy method on the basis of die casting of the magnesium alloy. The preparation method for the magnesium alloy comprises: preparation of materials, preheating, feeding, smelting, refining and slag removal, slagging and die casting. While excellent die casting manufacturability and low cost of a die cast magnesium alloy are maintained, an ignition point of the die cast magnesium alloy can be remarkably increased, and high-temperature oxidation resistance of the magnesium alloy is improved, so that the flame resistance is improved, and an application range of the magnesium alloy is further expanded.
