The method comprises: a first terminal apparatus sustains communication by using a first mode of a PC5 interface or an Uu interface, determines to perform interface switching or mode switching, and configures an interface or mode that must be switched to; and once configuration is complete, switching from the first mode of the PC5 interface to the Uu interface for communication, switching from the first mode of the PC5 interface to a second mode of the PC5 interface for communication, switching from the Uu interface to the first mode of the PC5 interface for communication, or switching from the Uu interface to the second mode of the PC5 interface for communication.
