La présente invention concerne un procédé de purification d'un mélange comprenant de l'eau, des sels de N-alkyle-hydroxylammonium et certains sous-produits, à partir du mélange, de l'eau et des sous-produits étant distillés jusqu'à ce que la pureté des sels de N-alkyl-hydroxylammonium dans le résidu soit supérieure ou égale à 95 % et en outre la teneur en eau étant maintenue pendant et après la distillation ≥ 40 % en poids selon le résidu.
