The invention relates to selected peptides which repair, by means of nucleotide excision repair (NER), cellular DNA damaged by the exposure to external agents in particular UV rays and the cosmetic or pharmaceutical use thereof in skin treatment. The invention also relates to compositions for topical application containing the peptides preferably carried in liposomes to prevent and treat skin damage caused by the exposure to UV rays in particular in subjects affected by xeroderma pigmentosum. L'invention concerne des peptides sélectionnés permettant de réparer, au moyen d'une réparation d'excision de nucléotides (NER), l'ADN cellulaire endommagé par l'exposition à des agents externes, en particulier des rayons UV, et son utilisation cosmétique ou pharmaceutique dans le traitement de la peau. L'invention concerne également des compositions pour une application topique contenant les peptides portés de préférence dans des liposomes pour prévenir et traiter des lésions cutanées provoquées par l'exposition à des rayons UV, en particulier chez des sujets affectés par Xeroderma Pigmentosum.
