Disclosed is a blender having a main body that is operated when the closing of a lid on a container is sensed. The blender according to the present invention has a transparent conductive member arranged to electrically connect the upper and lower ends of the container so as to maintain the transparency of the container. When it is sensed that the lid is closed on the container, electric power is transferred from a first induction coil of the main body to a second induction coil of the container, and when a change in the current of the first induction coil, caused by the magnetic field of the second induction coil generated by the electric power delivered to the second induction coil, is received, the main body recognizes that the lid is closed on the container, and the main body is allowed to operate.
