Summary:Various arrangements for compressing a cylindrical battery cell are presented herein. The cylindrical battery cell is wrapped in a buffer material. The buffer material is then compressed using a compression mechanism. The buffer material uniformly distributes pressure applied to the buffer material to a curved sidewall of the cylindrical battery cell. The cylindrical battery cell is heated while the buffer material is being compressed using the compression mechanism. L'invention concerne divers agencements pour comprimer un élément de batterie cylindrique. L'élément de batterie cylindrique est enroulé dans un matériau tampon. Le matériau tampon est ensuite comprimé à l'aide d'un mécanisme de compression. Le matériau tampon distribue uniformément une pression appliquée au matériau tampon à une paroi latérale incurvée de l'élément de batterie cylindrique. L'élément de batterie cylindrique est chauffé tandis que le matériau tampon est comprimé à l'aide du mécanisme de compression.
