A vehicle including a front module including a front wheel and a rear module selectively moveably connected to the front module, the rear module including a rear wheel. The vehicle further includes an electric motor assembly, a mode selector, at least one extension assembly connected between the front module and the rear module for selectively extending and retracting to provide a selective variation in an overall length of the vehicle; and a vehicle control unit being communicatively connected between the mode selector and the electric motor assembly. The vehicle control unit performs a method for selectively changing the overall vehicle length. The method includes receiving from the mode selector an indication to change the overall length, determining that the front wheel is rotationally locked, and causing an electric motor to drive the rear wheel such that the rear module translates relative to the front module. La présente invention concerne un véhicule comprenant un module avant comprenant une roue avant et un module arrière sélectivement relié mobile au module avant, le module arrière comprenant une roue arrière. Le véhicule comprend en outre un ensemble moteur électrique, un sélecteur de mode, au moins un ensemble d'extension relié entre le module avant et le module arrière pour s'étendre et se rétracter sélectivement pour fournir une variation sélective d'une longueur totale du véhicule ; et une unité de commande de véhicule étant connectée en communication entre le sélecteur de mode et l'ensemble moteur électrique. L'unité de commande de véhicule effectue un procédé de modification sélective de la longueur totale du véhicule. Le procédé consiste à recevoir, en provenance du sélecteur de mode, une indication pour modifier la longueur totale, à déterminer que la roue avant est verrouillée en rotation et à amener un moteur électrique à entraîner la roue arrière de sorte que le module arrière se translate par rapport au module avant.
