A battery module according to an embodiment of the present invention is composed of a plurality of battery cells, wherein the battery module comprises: a (+) output terminal formed by connecting the plurality of battery cells; a FET provided on a current path between the (+) output terminal and an external device to block charging or discharging of the battery module; a protection IC chip for controlling the FET; and a high temperature sensing unit for sensing whether the battery module is at a high temperature, wherein the high temperature sensing unit has one end connected to the (+) output terminal and the other end connected to one input port of the protection IC chip, and includes a plurality of PTC thermistors that are connected in series with each other.
