This information processing system is equipped with: a first information processing unit having a first calculation unit for generating one or more items of tag information with respect to user content data, from detected information pertaining to a user and a user action, and registering the generated one or more items of tag information, in association with the content data, in a content database; and a second information processing unit having a second calculation unit for selecting tag information on the basis of information detected from a content viewing environment that includes the user, retrieving and sequentially reproducing one or more items of content data on the basis of the selected tag information, and updating the tag information used in retrieving the content data in accordance with a change in the detection information from the content viewing environment.
