The flexible multi-layer barrier including a first elastomeric layer, a second elastomeric layer, and a gas impermeable layer arranged between the first elastomeric layer and the second elastomeric layer, the gas impermeable layer being formed from a metal layer. Un outil de fond de trou comprend un corps ayant une chambre de fluide hydraulique, et une barrière multicouche souple imperméable aux gaz et à l'eau montée au niveau du corps séparant la chambre de fluide hydraulique des fluides externes au corps. La barrière multicouche souple comprend une première couche élastomère, une seconde couche élastomère, et une couche imperméable aux gaz disposée entre la première couche élastomère et la seconde couche élastomère, la couche imperméable aux gaz étant constituée d'une couche métallique.
