The gear system includes a first quadrant and a second quadrant each configured to pivot about a corresponding axis to deflect a flexible distal tip portion of the endoscope in a corresponding direction. La présente invention concerne une commande d'endoscope qui comprend un boîtier définissant un espace intérieur. Un levier extérieur au boîtier s'étend à travers le boîtier dans le volume intérieur. Un système d'engrenages positionné dans le volume intérieur est fonctionnellement couplé au levier. Le système d'engrenages comprend un premier quadrant et un second quadrant, tous deux configurés pour pivoter autour d'un axe correspondant pour dévier une partie de l'extrémité distale flexible de l'endoscope dans une direction correspondante.
