A method (100) is disclosed for managing a device operable to join a network. The method, performed by a management node, comprises receiving from the device a request to join the network (110), the request comprising a device specific parameter and a token, and generating an authentication parameter from the device specific parameters and the token (120). The method further comprises authorising the device to join the network if the authentication parameter fulfils a validity criterion (140). Generating an authentication parameter from the device specific parameters and the token comprises generating an input comprising the device specific parameters and the token (122), computing a cryptographic function of the generated input (124), and setting an output of the cryptographic function as the authentication parameter (126). Also disclosed are a method for operating a device, a management node, a device and a computer program. L'invention concerne un procédé (100) de gestion d'un dispositif utilisable pour se joindre à un réseau. Le procédé, exécuté par un nœud de gestion, consiste à recevoir du dispositif une demande de se joindre au réseau (110), la demande comprenant un paramètre spécifique au dispositif et un jeton, et produire un paramètre d'authentification à partir des paramètres spécifiques au dispositif et du jeton (120). Le procédé consiste aussi à autoriser le dispositif à se joindre au réseau si le paramètre d'authentification respecte un critère de validité (140). La production d'un paramètre d'authentification à partir des paramètres spécifiques au dispositif et du jeton consiste à produire une entrée comprenant les paramètres spécifiques au dispositif et le jeton (122), calculer une fonction cryptographique de l'entrée produite (124), et définir une sortie de la fonction cryptographique comme étant le paramètre d'authentification (126).
