The present invention relates to a gas heater comprising: a flame sensing unit for sensing whether a flame is generated in a burner of the gas heater and sensing flame information on a flame intensity when a flame is generated; a display unit for displaying the flame information; and a control unit for receiving the flame information from the flame sensing unit, transmitting a first control signal to enable the display unit to display the flame intensity when it is determined that a flame is generated in the burner, and transmitting a second control signal so as to block a fuel gas supply to the burner, when it is determined that a flame is not generated in the burner.
