The subject matter discloses a method for playing a personalized ringback tone (PRBT) in a telephone device while performing an outgoing telephone call to another telephone device. The method is performed by a server and comprises receiving a call initiation data from an agent installed on said telephone device, the call initiation data comprises a call status in the first telephone device and an identifier of the second telephone device. Playing the PRBT as long as the call status is "ringing" and terminating the PRBT when the call status changes according to a predefined set of rules. L'invention concerne un procédé de lecture d'une tonalité de retour d'appel personnalisée (PRBT) dans un dispositif téléphonique pendant la réalisation d'un appel téléphonique sortant vers un autre dispositif téléphonique. Le procédé est mis en œuvre par un serveur et consiste à recevoir des données de lancement d'appel en provenance d'un agent installé sur ledit dispositif téléphonique, les données de lancement d'appel comprenant un état d'appel dans le premier dispositif téléphonique et un identifiant du second dispositif téléphonique. Le procédé consiste en outre à lire la PRBT tant que l'état d'appel est "sonnerie" et à terminer la PRBT lorsque l'état d'appel change conformément à un ensemble prédéfini de règles.
