A display device according to the present invention is provided with: a sealing film (30) which is provided so as to cover a light emitting element that constitutes a display area, and in which a first inorganic film (26), an organic film (27) and a second inorganic film (28) are sequentially stacked; and a first dam wall (Wa) which is provided in a frame area (F) around the display area so as to surround the display area, while overlapping with the peripheral portion of the organic film (27). At least in a part of the space between the display area and the first dam wall (Wa), at least one of inorganic insulating films (11, 13, 15, 17) that constitute a TFT layer (20a) is provided with a first opening (Ma) that opens upward; and the organic film (27) is provided such that the inside of the first opening (Ma) is filled with the organic film (27).
