Summary:A method for manufacturing molten iron, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving a reducing gas from a melter-gasifier to reduce iron oxide; receiving reduced iron from a reduction furnace to produce molten iron and supplying the reducing gas to the reduction furnace; supplying a fuel gas to a pilot burner in a combustion chamber to induce ignition of a main burner; heating the reducing gas discharged from the melter-gasifier while passing the same through the combustion chamber; and supplying the heated reducing gas to the reduction furnace. The fuel gas supplied to the pilot burner contains 25% by volume or greater of a hydrogen gas. Selon un mode de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de fer fondu, comprenant les étapes consistant : à recevoir un gaz réducteur provenant d'un fondeur-gazéifieur en vue de réduire l'oxyde de fer ; à recevoir du fer réduit provenant d'un four de réduction en vue de produire du fer fondu et à fournir le gaz réducteur au four de réduction ; à fournir un gaz combustible à un brûleur pilote dans une chambre de combustion en vue d'induire l'allumage d'un brûleur principal ; à chauffer le gaz réducteur évacué du fondeur-gazéifieur tout en faisant passer ce dernier à travers la chambre de combustion ; et à fournir le gaz réducteur chauffé au four de réduction.
