The present invention provides a solid cosmetic product comprising (i) a carbon dioxide effervescent component comprising: (a) a salt of carbonic acid; (b) an acidifying agent comprising citric acid and cream of tartar, wherein the weight ratio of citric acid to cream of tartar is from about 4:1 to about 1 :7; and (ii) water.
