The present invention relates to: a near-infrared absorbing dye which is composed of a compound represented by formula (A1); and a near-infrared absorbing dye which is composed of a compound represented by formula (A2). In formula (A1) and formula (A2), each of R1, R2, R5 and R6 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or an optionally substituted alkyl group, alkoxy group, aryl group or alaryl group which may contain an unsaturated bond or an oxygen atom between carbon atoms; and each of R3, R4, R7 and R8 independently represents an optionally substituted linear or branched chain alkyl group which may contain an unsaturated bond, an oxygen atom, an alicyclic ring or an aromatic ring between carbon atoms. La présente invention concerne : un colorant absorbant le proche infrarouge qui est composé d'un composé représenté par la formule (A1); et un colorant absorbant le proche infrarouge qui est composé d'un composé représenté par la formule (A2). Dans la formule (A1) et la formule (A2), chacun des R1, R2, R5 et R6 représente indépendamment un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe hydroxy, ou un groupe alcoxy, un groupe aryle, un groupe alaryle ou un groupe alkyle éventuellement substitué qui peut contenir une liaison insaturée ou un atome d'oxygène entre des atomes de carbone; et chacun des R3, R4, R7 et R8 représente indépendamment un groupe alkyle à chaîne linéaire ou ramifiée éventuellement substitué qui peut contenir une liaison insaturée, un atome d'oxygène, un noyau alicyclique ou un noyau aromatique entre des atomes de carbone. 本発明は、式（Ａ１）で示される化合物からなる近赤外線吸収色素及び式（Ａ２）で示される化合物からなる近赤外線吸収色素に関する。式（Ａ１）及び式（Ａ２）中、Ｒ１、Ｒ２、Ｒ５およびＲ６は、それぞれ独立して、水素原子、ハロゲン原子、水酸基、あるいは、置換基を有してもよく、炭素－炭素原子間に不飽和結合もしくは酸素原子を含んでよいアルキル基、アルコキシ基、アリール基またはアルアリール基である。Ｒ３、Ｒ４、Ｒ７およびＲ８は、それぞれ独立して、置換基を有してもよく、炭素－炭素原子間に不飽和結合、酸素原子、脂環もしくは芳香環を含んでよい直鎖状または分岐鎖状のアルキル基である。
