A battery and a plate and separator assembly are also disclosed. L'invention concerne un séparateur pour une batterie. Le séparateur (122) est un séparateur du type enveloppe. Au moins une ouverture (148) est ménagée dans un bord quelconque parmi un premier bord scellé, un deuxième bord scellé et un troisième bord scellé du séparateur du type enveloppe, ladite au moins une ouverture formant un conduit d'électrolyte qui contribue à la réduction de la stratification d'acide. L'invention concerne également une batterie et un ensemble plaque et séparateur.
